I always feel really excited when friends or family ask for a cake. Although I deliver and set up lots of cakes throughout Nottingham it is very rare that I am still around to see others enjoying the fruits of my labour, or for that matter enjoy the fruits of my own labour! This year so far I have been asked to make three wedding cakes and a christening cake for family and friends.  I cannot disclose the exact deign details, (to maintain the element of surprise I never do this until the cake has been consumed) but what I can tell you is that one of the wedding cakes is going to be served as the dessert. It will be an indulgent dark chocolate cake. The cake itself will contain 6kg of premium dark chocolate). The massive amount of chocolate is used to create the chocolate sponge and for the alternate layers of milk and dark chocolate ganache. The cake will be served with generous helpings of double cream, fresh strawberries and fruit coulis. There are so many advantages of serving your wedding cake as your wedding dessert
